EasyBot: High variety product handling made EASY
Conventional industrial robots excel at repetitive tasks. If however product dimensions or positioning locations vary (even slightly), present generation robot-control systems cannot deal with this variety. We developed the EasyBot – our robot-system controlled by our EasyEye technology – to take on this challenge.
Using 3D-vision to deal with variation in product and environment
By processing geometric and optical data through the EasyEye, we determine the X,Y and Z coordinates to high accuracy within the range of the robot-manipulator. Smart gripper-technology and other sensors can be employed to generate additional data valuable for product-handling. This information is gathered and processed in what we call the EasyOmniGrid (EOG), making it accessible and actionable.
Fast optical programming through EASY interface
The EasyBot system includes a laptop with a pre-installed version of the GUI-robotcontroller. The user-friendliness of the interface makes sure that even operators unfamiliar with computers can quickly learn to operate the system. The optical programming possibilities of the EasyBot are revolutionary in the reduction of programming time they facilitate.
Mobile and transportable robot-system
A valuable attribute of the EasyBot is the positioning freedom it allows. The entire system has been designed to be simply lifted, transported and re-positioned on a new location by forktruck. Typically the robot can be up and running on a new location within 120 minutes (including re-calibration). In ever more agile production environments, this is a major benefit for shopfloor flexibility.
Smart gripper technology: application specific design
Every product handling system need a gripper. Even though big steps have been made in standardizing gripper technology, dedicated grippers – customized per application – can significantly enhance handling cycles. For this reason, we have the skill an engineering talent to design gripper technology for a large variety of applications. Thanks to our other core technologies, the EasyFlexibleFramework, EasyIO and the EasyEye a gripper is rapidly integrated into the EasyBot. Adding sensors and intelligence to gripper solutions is relatively easy as is the integration of gripper-changing tools.
EasyBot: the future of man + machine collaboration
We can supply conventional (laser) safety solutions to any EasyBot installation. All our products conform to CE. However, the future lies in a closer interaction between man and robot-system. We are working on a collaborative safety system (EasyGuard) with which we will facilitate the direct interaction with heavy-duty robot manipulators (as is possible in the light-weight collaborative systems presently).
Advanced and open development framework for flexible customization
The EasyBot has a range of standard handling-configurations. The included EasyFlexibleFramework allows customers to rapidly develop their own customized handling-routines. Through the EasyFlexibleFramework backend systems within a company (such as ERP systems or other business intelligence software) can be accessed (if the right administrative privileges are granted). This brings the possibility of linking business processes more tightly with production reality. Through our EasyIO, realtime information can be relayed to any other system.
